Meant to be Broken

We are all meant to be broken
unforgiven and unspoken
hidden in a world so vast
yet we try to learn so fast
Fitting our lives
in with the rest
puts weight each day
on top of my chest
Each month
brings a dying dream
never to be realized
never to be seen
Each one
could have given me new eyes
I wonder what happens
when the last dream dies
Do I become a husk,
an empty shell
Groping blindly
in an empty hell
I cling tightly
to the dreams I still hold
safe from others
that would press and mold
Forcing a branch
in a forking path
negating solutions
in my life's own math
Balance would be lost
deep in my mind
a Predator with
No prey to find
Grey exists
and fills my vision
drowning out color
to focus on the mission
to keep aware
and burn an inner fire
to harness your dreams
and all that you desire.
