The Hunter

Too far below the streams
of what was to be
and what was to come
I saw the thing
and I started to run
into the woods and far away
I tried to hide
I tried to stay
but the moon was too bright
and there was fresh packed snow
you could where I went to
you could see where I went fro

finally my tracks
they disappeared
and if you could follow
you would hear

the sound of my screams
and the crunch of my bones
the smell of my blood
and its rich undertones
the rasp of my breath
and the muffle of my cry
the incredible violence
before the silence of my die

on and on I blazed a new path
one unknown that required new math
I set my sights just a little higher
In my soul was a burning fire
There was a peace unknown
as I reached inside
The river was deep
and the river was wide
I could cross it
of that I knew
My knowledge was floating
in a brain canoe
I was blind to the rocks
as the water went white
The current got swift
the passage got tight

Under the waves
I disappeared
and if you could follow
you would hear

the sound of my screams
and the crunch of my bones
the smell of my blood
and its rich undertones
the rasp of my breath
and the muffle of my cry
the incredible violence
before the silence of my die

If you can master
this murderous stream
maybe you can wake up
from this childish dream
Until you do
You're cursed to exist
Gritting your teeth
And clinching your fist.
