Rock Star Mirror

Moon beams dance
with drops of rain
I adjust my shackles
and stretch my chain
How long has it been
since I've been free
Do I still know
who's the real me
In through my window
the moon beams glide
calling softly
beckoning to guide
My soul unfettered
unlike my body below
begins to ebb
and begins to flow
Through the bars
that hold me down
through the rain drops
all around
The tug of my guide
pulls me along
I'm in full throe
of it's musical song
Upward and onward
through clouds we rise
hearing without ears
and seeing without eyes
Tasting the edge
of the atmosphere
I open my mind
and swallow my fear
In the vacuum of space
I fly alone
to the rock star mirror
I call my home

This rock star mirror
bathed in pure light
Lifts my spirit
and calms my fright
Of this rock star mirror
in a shadow so black
Nothing can survive
it's icy attack
This rock star mirror
master of the seas
embraces the oceans
in a giant squeeze
Yet this rock star mirror
is warped inside
Soaked in brilliance
but full of false pride
For the moon beams emitted
Are just like me
Just a reflection
Of what they used to be.
